My Lady, My Captain, My Love

(Written February 20, 2003.)

I found my long lost shipmate at Victoria Bay.
The seas and fresh air kept her beauty intact.
The way she moved and commanded her crew was extraordinary.
She was truly a Captain to behold and a farer of adventure.
I could tell that she had changed.
The soft sweet tender flower that I watched grow,
had blossomed into a rose with sharp,
prickly thorns that could impale a man with a look.
For her demeanor was cold and demanding,
but not cruel,
just confidence in herself and her ability to lead.
I watched her from a distance and thought to myself,
my lady, my captain, my love.
The way she posed on the bow of her ship was magnificent.
Her long black hair blew in the wind and her skin was being
darken by the brilliance of the sun.
Her tunic that accentuated her body embraced her ruffled shirt.
Her high black-heeled boots made her look enchanting and so inviting.
Her breast set upon her chest like fresh melons waiting to
be squeezed and eaten ever so slowly.
I imagined tasting her love as we use to over twenty years ago.
It was destine for me to place this treasure back into the safe
of my heart.
I walked closer to her and as I reached for her I heard the sound
of sabers being drawn.
I instinctively drew mine and as she turned I saw hers was drawn also.
I immediately dropped to one knee before she could see my face.
I laid my saber at her feet and she asked,
"Why have you come here and what do you want?"
Without looking up I replied,
"I am here to take back the treasurers that was lost to me over
twenty years ago."
I could sense her looking down at me as she replied,
"What I take is mine and no man shall ever recapture anything from me."
With my head still bowed I stated,
"I have returned a treasure that I took from you over twenty years ago.
I must know if it is still of value."
She told me to rise and I slowly came to my feet while my head was
still bowed.
I looked up and she looked into my eyes and dropped her saber.
We stood there embraced in the moment eye to eye.
No words were spoken and no one existed.
There was no sound, no air, no substance of anything,
just her and I.
I stepped towards her and she fell into my arms.
I looked into her eyes and asked if her love was still mine.
She tenderly pulled my face to hers and gently kissed my lips.
Her crew put away their weapons and departed.
She took me to her cabin and once again showed me the key to my heart
that I had given her during our youth.
At that point here at Victoria Bay,
I knew once again that she was,
my lady, my captain, my love.
