Sweet Lullabies In The Night
At night I tell you hush,
hush my sweet lady,
don't you cry.
Because I am forever,
right here by your side.
All the while letting you know that I will love you until
the end of time.
Your head lying here in my lap,
I can feel you breathing and I am taking in your every breath.
You are safe and secure while you lay here.
For I will not allow nightmares and bad dreams to fall
upon your breast.
You can feel I am here protecting you while you rest.
I shall sing to you sweet lullabies in the night.
Never closing my eyes and always keeping you in sight.
You said no one has every cared for you the way I do.
I must agree with you because you are so right.
Again I will sing to you sweet lullabies in the night.
As you gently stir and raise your head,
I pick you up and carry you off to bed.
But you tell me no please,
let's lay by the fire side instead.
I softly smile and nod while your words stir the
fire inside my head.
The ambers once again turn into hot flames.
For I have just begun to love you and at this very moment,
I only think of you.
So twinkle, twinkle you are my star.
The brightest love that I have ever had by far.
I love how you stir and hold me tight.
On this warm but cold January night.
While holding you while you rest,
I find so much enjoyment and delight.
Right here on this starry, starry night.
As I look out the window and see the snowflakes fall.
It is you that I think of most of all.
So sleep in peace my darling dear,
for I shall be right here by your side.
You see it is you that I adore.
It is you that I live for.
It is your love that makes things right.
While I sing to you sweet lullabies in the night.
